I love long days and warm weather. So each year I dread the on set of winter. Not so much because of the cold but because of the dark. The cold harsh dark. Some years ago I started to try and take steps to alleviate some of that cold dark misery by getting ahead of the problem. I usually can make it until about late February now without going into a complete shutdown, which I consider a huge win!

Products That Have Helped Me
- Have a long winter project. Find something to build or complete during the cold season that can keep you occupied and excited to work on. Make it realistic but challenging.
- Acclimate going into the season. As the temps cool make yourself be out and about doing things so as the temperatures get lower you are adapting with them.
- Be outside as much as possible.
- Supplement your Vitamin D and a good diet along with your other supplements.
- SAD lamp in the area you spend most of your time. Run it during your normal hours but make sure to turn it off during normal even hours to keep your rhythm balanced. I use a large one that fills the room with light but there are also ones you can just sit in front of for a few minutes a day.
- Find a business around you that offers lightbed therapy and go at least once a week during the peak of winter.
