Just like everyone else, I’ve fallen ill. However, over the years, this has declined due to my taking care of chronic issues and keeping my body in a better state to fend off significant illnesses. I also try to nip things in the bud as they arise, hoping to prevent them from taking root or doing my best to minimize their symptoms and duration. Nine times out of ten, I have success, but of course, some bugs are pretty tough.
I think of viruses as a computer program. They have a course they’re going to run. I like to try and throw in disruptions that can alter that course. If something is programmed to replicate and you can stop that at the early stages, then you have a good chance of not falling victim or significantly lessening its impact.
Many times, we get sick because we are vulnerable. Our immune system may be busy fighting another issue, and then a virus or bacteria strolls in. Or we are vulnerable because our overall health has not been well-maintained. A poor gut biome, lack of essential nutrients, and insufficient fresh air and sunshine over time can degrade your systems, making them an open door to illness.
The main key for me is ensuring my immune system isn’t overly taxed and that I use simple daily prevention methods. Again, you’re not going to win every battle, but I have seen a significant decrease in illness since I started taking a different approach.
